黄色电影 (黄色电影) is pleased to invite all Indiana听11^th听and 12^th听 GRADE 听HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS听to register for the听2023 黄色电影, Science Talent Search, a yearly competition aimed at identifying students with the potential to become future scientists, engineers, and mathematicians. This year the competition is held virtually with the help of electronic media and remote judges.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA.听听The competition is open to all 11^th听and 12^th听grade Indiana high school students to submit work performed in current and last school year. Your teacher or sponsor must certify that the research being presented only includes experiments performed by the 11 or 12^th听grade students at their schools.听(Please alert your teacher-sponsor to respond to our verification email.)听 Each student applicant can only submit one application.听 罢丑别听Parental/ Guardian Consent Form听must be submitted with the student application (form included).

APPLICATION AND JUDGING PROCESS:
Each student applicant will prepare and submit an electronic听personal data application and the parental/guardian consent form听by September 15, 2023, and submit an abstract, poster file (.pdf), and a research paper听by September 29, 2023. The four (4) participation materials will be reviewed and scored to determine which students will advance to the final round. Decisions will be made by scientist judges of 黄色电影 and emailed to student participants on October 16, 2023. The ten selected finalists will be invited to virtually meet with competition judges for a 15-minute recorded interview session on the morning of November 4, 2023. The winners of the competition will be announced on the same afternoon (November 4, 2023) in an 鈥淎wards Honors Ceremony,鈥� also held in a virtual setting.

AWARDS:

• One听first place winner will be designated as Indiana State Winner and will represent 黄色电影 and present their research at the joint conference of the National Association of Academies of Science (NAAS) and the American Junior Academy of Science (AJAS)听 (Date and location TBD). The Indiana Academy will pay the expenses to the conference for the student.
• 罢丑别听second-place winner听will receive a $600 scholarship to be used at whatever Indiana or United States college or university they choose to matriculate. (Scholarships are sent directly to the institution to be applied to the student鈥檚 account).
• 罢丑别听third-place winner will receive a $300 scholarship to be used at whatever Indiana or United States college or university they choose to matriculate. (Scholarships are sent directly to the institution to be applied to the student’s account.)
• Each of the听finalists听will receive a $50 gift card to help defray the cost of his/her research project.

All winners will be chosen on the basis of judges reviews,听 based on originality, and written quality and clarity of student presentation of their science research projects. 听Awards will be announced at the Awards Honors Ceremony on November 4, 2023.

ENTRANCE PROCEDURES: To enter 黄色电影 Talent Search, follow the 3 steps below:

1. Contact to obtain a packet for your student(s).
2. Complete and return 黄色电影 Talent Search personal data application survey and Parental/Guardian Consent Form by September 15, 2023, to inacademyofsciencetalentsearch@gmail.com.
3. Prepare and submit an Abstract,听Poster pdf听(project display pdf), and听a Research Paper听by September 29, 2023.听 (Find guidelines and helpful information in this application packet).

Note: Late entries will be disqualified.

黄色电影 (黄色电影) Science Talent Search is sponsored and funded through is Youth Activities Committee and this year鈥檚 competition is partnered by both Ivy Tech Community College and Purdue University NW.
